In The Tortilla Curtain, T.C Boyle uses many themes and types in nature to represent immigration problems. Boyle uses the prairie wolf and domestic cat as symbols of the people who ar illegal immigrants and their feelings. Thus, the illegal immigrants in the novel are deline own by the prairie wolfs, who manage to cross the borders between Mexico and the US. However, the US Citizens in the novel are not represented as creatures. Kyra and Delaney spot out their first dog, Sacheverell, to a prairie wolf. The family was very upset by this happening and they decide to put a high enclose in their plump foryard so the coyotes will not be equal to raise all over. Another incident happened when another coyote upriseed their fence and ate their second dog, Osbert. This incident has showed us that the higher fence is not effective and they could not do anything to anticipate the coyote to climb over. It stated on how the coyotes are world able to insure and no one wil l be able to attend them in the woods But the coyote was too pert for him.
Ears pinned back, jaws and forepaws stifling its prey, it could lie there, absolutely motionless, for hours. (pg.38). This demonstrate has showed us the coyote has represented America and Candido as they are able to cut through in the woods and attempt their best not to be caught by anyone and send them back to Mexico. From this sluicet, T.C Boyle has utilize the coyote as a real wildlife animal and he also used imagery on the coyote as a symbol of the illegal immigrants such as Candido and America who managed to climb over the borders between Mexico and the US even though they ! know what are their consequences when they become an illegal immigrants in the US.If you want to get a full essay, order it on our website: OrderCustomPaper.com
